This cuprea clone was originally bred by John Creevey of Gotcha! Plants. The parent plant was raised from seed supplied by Allen Lowrie as “flava var. flava, stocky form and clumping, North Carolina.” This was subsequently self-pollinated, producing the seed from which this clone originated.
As the season advances, the operculum shifts from light copper to deep reds and dark bronze, with particularly pronounced venation throughout the lid and upper tube.
Information on the origins of this plant have been retained and generously provided by John Neilson, with more details on his experiences of growing this plant available via his blog The Pitcher Plantation.
